That difference can matter if you are sensitive to fit changes. A person who finds SKYN Original secure but slightly close may find Durex Regular roomier, but material can complicate the comparison. SKYN Original uses SKYNFEEL synthetic polyisoprene; many Durex Regular products use natural-rubber latex and Durex also has non-latex regular-fit products. Stretch and contour can therefore produce a different sensation even before width is considered.
SKYN Original at 53 mm is technically very close to Durex Close Fit at 52.5 mm. The difference is only half a millimetre in published nominal width. If SKYN Original fits you well and you want to try a narrower Durex product without a large technical change, Durex Close is the nearest fit label in Durex's current system.

Durex organizes many UK condoms using Close Fit, Regular Fit and Wide Fit icons. Its current buying guide describes Close Fit as 52.5 mm, Regular Fit as 56 mm and Wide Fit as 57 mm. That simple overview is useful, but the product catalogue shows that “Wide Fit” can vary by line.
Durex Originals Wide is 57 mm. Durex Intensity XL, a nitrile latex-free product, is also listed at 57 mm. However, Durex Thin Feel Wide is 60 mm, and Durex's Nude range states 60 mm for Wide Fit. This means a shopper switching from one Durex Wide product to another should still check the nominal width rather than assuming the label guarantees the same technical size.
Durex Regular is more consistent in the examples reviewed: the brand buying guide lists Regular at 56 mm, and Durex Nude Regular specifically lists 56 mm nominal width and 195 mm length. Durex Real Feel also appears as a 56 mm Regular Fit non-latex product.
Nominal width is the best starting measurement for size comparison, but material is one of the biggest reasons two condoms with the same width do not necessarily feel alike. SKYN UK says its condoms are made from SKYNFEEL, a synthetic polyisoprene material that contains no natural-rubber latex. That makes the SKYN range particularly straightforward for people specifically seeking a non-latex external condom.
Durex has a broader material mix. Many familiar Durex products such as Originals, Thin Feel and Nude are natural-rubber latex. Durex also offers non-latex products: Durex Real Feel is marketed for people with latex allergies, and the newer Durex Intensity range uses premium nitrile BodyFeel material. Because latex, polyisoprene and nitrile differ in stretch and tactile properties, a 56 mm SKYN Large and a 56 mm Durex Regular should not be expected to feel exactly the same.

If you compare currently available UK ranges, Durex has the clearer narrow-fit option because its Close Fit products are 52.5 mm and actively sold in the UK. SKYN identifies Close Feel at 51 mm as its tightest-fitting condom, but its FAQ says Close Feel is not currently available in the United Kingdom.
SKYN Original at 53 mm is therefore the more realistic current UK SKYN comparison for many shoppers. It is only 0.5 mm wider than Durex Close, making those products technically close in nominal width despite their different names. This is one of the most important details on the entire SKYN vs Durex condom sizes page. A generic Durex buying guide simplifies the range into three fit labels, but the current individual product pages show that the Wide Fit label is not tied to one single width across every Durex line.
Durex Originals Wide is 57 mm. Durex Intensity XL is also 57 mm. Durex Thin Feel Wide is 60 mm, and Durex Nude Wide is identified as 60 mm on the brand's range page. In other words, “Durex Wide” tells you the fit category, but the specific nominal width still needs to be checked.

SKYN UK states that its polyisoprene condoms are compatible with water-based and silicone-based lubricants and warns against oil-based products because oils can damage polyisoprene condoms. SKYN condoms are supplied with non-spermicidal silicone lubricant.
