Compare current Trojan™ Magnum™ condom dimensions by length, base nominal width, mid-shaft width and shape. This guide shows why Magnum Original, Thin, Ribbed, Raw, BareSkin, Ecstasy and XL do not all use one identical size.
The table below uses current Trojan™ / Magnum™ sizing information. Base width is the nominal flat width near the base. Mid-shaft width is also shown because several Magnum condoms are tapered or flared, meaning the condom becomes wider above the base. For mid-shaft figures, the official Trojan size chart currently publishes inches; the approximate millimetre values shown in parentheses are direct unit conversions.

If you only look at the base nominal width, the current Magnum range spans several different measurements. That is why saying “Magnum condoms are 55 mm” or “Magnum condoms are 58 mm” is incomplete.
Trojan currently positions Magnum as a large-size and XL-size condom family. Its official fit content says Magnum condoms tend to be longer than standard condoms, with current product lengths ranging from roughly 7.1 inches to 8.3 inches depending on the variant.
Trojan's current Magnum product pages commonly describe Magnum condoms as intended for people with a penis at least 7.1 inches long and at least 4.75 inches in girth. Its broader condom size chart also says a large condom can be worth considering if you are longer than 7 inches and at least 5 inches in girth, or if a standard condom feels too tight or does not fully cover the shaft.
Magnum Original Lubricated currently has a 55 mm base width, a published length of 180–200 mm (7.1–7.9 inches), and a tapered/flared shape. Trojan's official comparison chart lists its mid-shaft flat width at 2.45 inches, which is approximately 62 mm.
This shape matters. A 55 mm base does not mean the entire Magnum Original is only 55 mm wide from base to tip. The body flares wider above the base, which is one reason a simple single-width comparison can miss how the condom actually feels.
Magnum XL currently has the largest base width in the Magnum line. Trojan lists the base at 2.3 inches / 58 mm, with a length of 180–200 mm and a tapered/flared shape. The official size chart lists a mid-shaft width of 2.48 inches, approximately 63 mm.
Trojan also states that Magnum XL has a larger base than Magnum Original: 2.3 inches versus 2.17 inches. That is the clearest technical distinction when someone asks “Magnum vs Magnum XL size.”

Magnum Raw and Magnum BareSkin currently share the same published size profile: 57 mm base width, 190–210 mm length, and a tapered/flared shape. Trojan's current chart lists a mid-shaft width of 2.36 inches, approximately 60 mm.
Trojan specifically says Magnum Raw and Magnum BareSkin have the same shape and dimensions, while Raw is positioned as the thinner option. This is a useful example of two condoms sharing the same size but offering a different construction and feel.
Magnum Thin and Magnum Ribbed currently use the same core sizing as Magnum Original: 55 mm base width, 180–200 mm length, and a tapered/flared profile. The official chart lists their mid-shaft width at 2.45 inches, or about 62 mm.
The difference is not the basic size. Magnum Thin emphasizes a thinner feel, while Magnum Ribbed adds texture. That is why users comparing Magnum variants should separate size from feature.
Magnum Ecstasy is the outlier in the chart. Its current base width is 53 mm, which is narrower than Magnum Original at the base, but its shape is parachute / super bulbous. Trojan's current size chart lists its mid-shaft flat width at 2.9 inches, approximately 74 mm.
That very large change from base to body shows why base nominal width alone cannot tell the whole story for shaped condoms. Ecstasy is designed to provide much more room away from the base than a simple straight or mildly flared product.
Compare base width, mid-shaft room and length separately rather than treating every Magnum condom as one identical shape.

Trojan's current general size guide says standard condoms commonly have a nominal width around 2.0–2.2 inches, while larger-fit condoms often start around 2.2 inches or above. Magnum products sit in the large / XL family, but the Magnum chart shows that shape can be just as important as a simple base-width threshold.
Magnum Original has a 55 mm base—about 2.17 inches—yet its body flares wider. Raw and BareSkin start at 57 mm, while XL starts at 58 mm. Ecstasy starts narrower at 53 mm but expands into a super-bulbous body. This is why “Magnum is wider than regular” is broadly true as a family description but technically incomplete for every measurement point.

The most direct comparison is at the base. Magnum Original is currently 55 mm at the base, while Magnum XL is 58 mm. That makes XL 3 mm wider in flat base width. Their published length range is the same at 180–200 mm.
Mid-shaft width is also close but not identical: 2.45 inches for Magnum Original versus 2.48 inches for Magnum XL. In other words, XL's biggest dimensional change is at the base, where it provides more room than Original.
Magnum Raw currently starts wider at the base than Original: 57 mm versus 55 mm. Raw is also published longer, at 190–210 mm compared with Original's 180–200 mm. However, Original has a larger published mid-shaft flat width: 2.45 inches versus Raw's 2.36 inches.
That comparison demonstrates why one “which is bigger?” answer can depend on where you measure. Raw is wider at the base and longer, while Original flares to a slightly wider mid-shaft measurement.
From a size perspective, they are currently the same: 57 mm base, 190–210 mm length, and the same tapered/flared shape. Trojan states that Raw and BareSkin share dimensions and shape. Raw is differentiated mainly by thinness rather than by size.
Trojan's own current guidance emphasizes both penis length and girth when deciding whether a Magnum may be appropriate. For a practical measurement, take erect girth around the fullest part of the shaft and erect length from a consistent base point to the tip.
Use the condition in which the external condom is worn.
Wrap a flexible tape around the fullest part without compressing tissue.
Measure in a straight line from a consistent base point to the tip.
Use the specific Magnum base width, body shape and length—not just the Magnum name.
The condom should apply correctly, stay secure and avoid painful restriction.

According to Trojan's current product information, Magnum XL has the largest base width in the Magnum line at 58 mm / 2.3 inches. Raw and BareSkin follow at 57 mm, while Original, Thin and Ribbed use 55 mm bases.
Ecstasy should not be ranked by base alone because its 53 mm base opens into the largest mid-body shape in the current Magnum chart. If you need more room specifically at the base, XL is the widest. If you care more about room through the body, the shape comparison becomes more important.
The current official chart groups Raw, BareSkin and Ecstasy in the longer 7.5–8.3 inch range, equivalent to about 190–210 mm. Original, Thin, Ribbed and XL are listed at 7.1–7.9 inches, or 180–200 mm.
There is overlap between those ranges, so a product being in the “longer” group does not mean every individual condom is exactly 10 mm longer than every product in the other group. Trojan publishes ranges rather than one single exact length.
A condom does not have to be the same width from base to tip. Magnum Original, Thin, Ribbed, Raw, BareSkin and XL are tapered/flared, meaning the width increases above the base. Ecstasy uses a much more dramatic parachute or super-bulbous shape.
This is why two Magnum condoms can have a similar base width but feel very different through the shaft and head. When you compare variants, look at both base width and mid-shaft width instead of treating one nominal-width number as the entire fit.

A Magnum condom should not be chosen simply because it has a larger name. It should be large enough to avoid painful constriction while remaining secure enough not to slip or bunch. Correct application matters before judging size.
If a Magnum product feels loose at the base, compare a narrower base width. If the base is secure but the mid-body feels restrictive, compare a variant with a wider flare or different shape. If a standard condom is comfortable at the base but feels too short, length—not width—may be the main issue.

Size selection does not replace correct condom use. Follow the instructions supplied with the product and current sexual-health guidance. The CDC external-condom instructions explain opening the wrapper carefully, placing the condom on the tip of the erect penis, pinching the tip, unrolling fully and holding the base during withdrawal.

Magnum packaging and Trojan's official chart use both inches and metric measurements, which can make comparisons look more complicated than they are. For base width, Magnum Original, Thin and Ribbed are 55 mm, which is about 2.17 inches. Raw and BareSkin are 57 mm, about 2.24 inches. Magnum XL is 58 mm, about 2.3 inches. Magnum Ecstasy has a 53 mm base, about 2.09 inches, but then expands dramatically through the body.
Millimetres are often the clearest unit for base-width comparison because a difference of 2 or 3 mm is easy to see. Inches are useful when that is the unit you use for body measurements. Keep in mind that the official mid-shaft figures are also flat-width measurements, not body girth measurements.

Start with the dimension that is causing the problem. If Magnum Original feels tight specifically at the base, Magnum XL gives more base room at 58 mm versus 55 mm. Raw and BareSkin sit between those two at a 57 mm base but are published in a longer 190–210 mm range.
If Original feels secure at the base but you want a thinner construction, Magnum Thin keeps the same published 55 mm base and 180–200 mm length range. If you want a 57 mm base and the same dimensions as BareSkin but an even thinner Magnum option, Trojan currently positions Raw that way.
Ecstasy should be chosen for a different reason. Its base is not the widest; its defining feature is the super-bulbous body. Someone who needs more movement or room through the mid-body may perceive Ecstasy very differently from XL even though XL has the wider base.
Magnum XL is a logical comparison when Original feels too tight at the base because it increases base width from 55 mm to 58 mm. But “better” still depends on where the pressure occurs. If the base feels secure and the discomfort is farther up the shaft, another Magnum shape may solve the problem differently.
Raw and BareSkin use a 57 mm base and a slightly narrower published mid-shaft than Original, while Ecstasy uses a narrow base combined with a very wide body. That is why troubleshooting should identify whether you need more room at the base, more room through the shaft, more length, or a different material/feel.
If a wider base begins to slip, do not keep moving larger. Re-check girth, application and the original problem. The best fit should remain secure while avoiding painful restriction.
