Condom Brand Fit Comparison

Compare major condom brands by nominal width, length, shape, material and sizing system. This Condom Brand Fit Comparison looks at Durex UK, Trojan and Magnum US, SKYN UK and MyONE Custom Fit US using current official brand information. The goal is to help you understand why two condoms with similar labels can feel different—and why millimetres, product shape and real fit matter more than the brand name alone.

Brand Widths Compared Regional Differences Fit Shapes Explained
Quick takeaway: condom brand labels are not interchangeable. Durex “Regular”, SKYN “Original”, Trojan standard products and MyONE “Classic” can sit near similar width territory, but exact dimensions, materials, shapes and lengths differ. Compare the current nominal width and product length of the exact model rather than assuming “regular”, “large” or “XL” means the same thing across brands.

Condom Brand Fit Comparison: The Main Differences

Condom brands solve fit in different ways. Some use a small number of easy-to-understand categories. Others use a wide range of technical sizes. Some keep the base relatively snug but widen the mid-shaft or head, while others use a straight-walled shape. Material also changes how the condom stretches and feels.

This means nominal width is important, but it is not the whole story. A 56 mm straight condom may feel different from a 55 mm tapered condom with a much wider mid-body. A 53 mm polyisoprene condom may feel different from a 53 mm natural-latex condom. And a custom-fit system that separates width and length can solve fit problems that a single “regular” label cannot.

Major Condom Brand Fit Comparison Table

The table below compares the current official sizing systems used by the brands covered in this guide. It is not a claim that every product sold by each brand uses exactly these dimensions. Product pages and regional ranges can differ, so always verify the exact condom you are considering.

Brand / System Current Width Reference Length Approach Fit Character
Durex UK Close 52.5 mm; Regular 56 mm; Wide 57 mm in general fit guide Varies by exact product; e.g. some Regular products list 195 mm Simple retail fit categories
Trojan US Standard Many standard latex models use 53 mm base width Often around 170–190 mm, with model variation Standard, shaped and special mid-body profiles
Trojan Magnum Base widths commonly about 53–58 mm depending on model Commonly about 180–210 mm depending on model Tapered/flared or bulbous large-fit shapes
SKYN UK Original 53 mm; Large 56 mm; Close Feel 51 mm exists but is not currently sold in UK Product-specific Non-latex polyisoprene, mainly straight-fit products

Durex Fit: Simple Close, Regular and Wide Categories

Durex UK's current condom buying guide uses three general width categories: Close Fit at 52.5 mm, Regular Fit at 56 mm and Wide Fit at 57 mm. That makes the system easy to understand if you want a straightforward narrower, standard or roomier choice.

However, Durex product-level specifications can differ from the general guide. For example, Durex Thin Feel Wide currently lists a 60 mm nominal width, while Durex Originals Wide lists 57 mm. Durex Nude Regular lists 56 mm nominal width and 195 mm length. This shows why you should check the exact product page rather than assuming a brand-wide category has one fixed dimension.

Durex also offers a printable FitFinder. It tells users to measure around the widest part of an erection and then use the result to shop Close, Regular or Wide, while reminding users that the recommendation is only a starting point and comfort matters.

Trojan Fit: Base Width, Mid-Body Width and Shape

Trojan's US size chart is useful because it separates base nominal width from mid-body flat width. Many standard Trojan latex products use a 53 mm base width, but some models widen dramatically through the shaft or head. This means the base can remain secure while the upper condom gives more room.

For example, Trojan's standard chart lists many classic products around 53 mm at the base. Some Ecstasy-style products keep that 53 mm base but expand much more through the mid-body. That is a different design philosophy from simply making the entire condom uniformly wider.

This is important when comparing brands. If a straight 53 mm condom feels restrictive around the upper shaft, a shaped 53 mm-base Trojan may feel roomier without needing a wider base. On the other hand, if the base itself is too tight, a wider base width may be more relevant than a bulbous head.

Magnum Fit: Larger Does Not Mean One Single Size

Trojan Magnum is often treated as if it were one universal large condom size, but the official chart shows several different dimensions and shapes. Magnum Original and Magnum Thin currently use a 55 mm base width with a wider mid-body. Magnum Raw and BareSkin use a 57 mm base with a 60 mm mid-body. Magnum XL uses a 58 mm base and 63 mm mid-body. Magnum Ecstasy uses a narrower 53 mm base but a much wider bulbous body.

That variation means the word “Magnum” does not tell you the exact fit. Someone who needs a secure base with more upper-shaft room may prefer a different model from someone who needs a genuinely wider base. Always read the model-level chart.

SKYN Fit: 53 mm Original and 56 mm Large

SKYN UK currently lists 53 mm nominal width for SKYN Original and several related standard-size products. SKYN Large is listed at 56 mm nominal width and is described as longer and wider than the standard size. The brand's FAQ says its tightest-fitting SKYN Close Feel uses a 51 mm nominal width, but that product is not currently available in the UK.

SKYN is also different because its condoms are made from synthetic polyisoprene rather than natural rubber latex. Material can affect feel and elasticity, so a 53 mm SKYN should not be assumed to feel exactly like a 53 mm latex condom from another brand.

MyONE Fit: 52 Custom Width-and-Length Combinations

MyONE takes the most granular approach in this comparison. Its current US Custom Fit chart uses nine nominal widths from 45 mm to 64 mm and ten length letters from C to M, with average lengths from about 120 mm to 235 mm. The available combinations form 52 current FitCodes.

A FitCode such as 53H contains two pieces of information: the number is the nominal width and the letter identifies the product length. This lets someone choose a short-wide, long-narrow or other proportion that a simple small/regular/large system may not provide.

Why the Same “Size” Can Feel Different Across Brands

Width, shape, material and length all interact. The label on the box is only the beginning.

Brand Fit = Width + Shape + Length + Material Two condoms can share a width number but still feel very different. 1. Width Nominal flat width in mm 2. Shape Straight, tapered or bulbous 3. Length Enough coverage without excess MAT 4. Material Latex vs polyisoprene etc.
WidthStart with nominal width for a technical side-to-side comparison.
ShapeA secure base can be paired with a much wider mid-body.
LengthLonger is not automatically wider, and wider is not automatically longer.
MaterialDifferent materials can stretch and feel different at the same nominal width.

Why Nominal Width Alone Does Not Predict Brand Fit

Nominal width is one of the best numbers for comparing condoms, but it is not a complete fit model. A condom can be 53 mm at the base and 73 mm through the mid-body. Another condom may remain close to 53 mm from base to tip. Those products have a very different feel even though their base number matches.

This is especially important with shaped Trojan and Magnum products. Durex and SKYN often present fit more simply, while MyONE focuses on width and length combinations. If you have a fit problem in one specific area—base, shaft, head or overall length—look at the shape instead of changing the brand blindly.

Brand Comparison by Common Width

The 53–57 mm range is where several major brand systems overlap. That makes it useful for understanding how equal or near-equal nominal widths can still produce different experiences.

Durex vs Trojan Fit

Durex generally makes width comparison easy by using a fit category and published nominal width. Trojan provides more detail about different points along the condom. If you care mainly about base width, Durex's mm figure is easy to compare. If you want more room through the upper shaft or head without dramatically widening the base, Trojan's shape data can be especially useful.

Neither approach is inherently superior. The better fit depends on where your current condom feels wrong.

Durex vs SKYN Fit

Durex Regular at 56 mm and SKYN Large at 56 mm share the same nominal-width number in their current UK information, but they use different materials and product construction. SKYN Original at 53 mm sits closer to many Trojan standard products and between Durex Close and Regular.

People choosing SKYN often do so because they want a non-latex polyisoprene condom. If material sensitivity or feel is important, width is only one part of the decision.

Trojan Magnum vs MyONE Fit

Magnum and MyONE both offer options beyond a simple regular fit, but they do it differently. Magnum relies heavily on contoured shapes and wider mid-body dimensions. MyONE varies the base/body nominal width itself across nine width numbers and then separately varies length.

Someone who needs more room in the head or upper shaft but a reasonably secure base may find a contoured Magnum shape useful. Someone who needs a specific combination of short length plus wide width—or long length plus narrow width—may find MyONE's matrix easier to match.

SKYN vs MyONE Fit

SKYN's UK range is comparatively simple: a standard 53 mm Original fit and a 56 mm Large option are easy to understand. MyONE offers much more technical variety from 45 to 64 mm and multiple lengths.

The trade-off is simplicity versus customisation. If SKYN Original or Large already fits well and you prefer the non-latex material, there may be little reason to move to a more complex system. If standard lengths or widths repeatedly fail, MyONE gives more adjustment points.

How to Compare Condom Brands Properly

Start with your own erect girth and length. Then identify the exact condom you already use and write down its current dimensions. If it fits well, that product becomes your reference. If it does not, define the problem before switching brands.

1

Measure Girth

Use erect circumference around the fuller part of the shaft.

2

Check Current Product

Find nominal width, length, shape and material.

3

Define The Problem

Too tight, too loose, too short, too long or wrong shape?

4

Compare Equivalent Specs

Match base width to base width and product length to product length.

5

Confirm Real Fit

Choose the product that stays secure and feels comfortable during correct use.

What If One Brand's Regular Is Another Brand's Large?

That can happen because size names are marketing categories rather than a universal measurement standard. A brand may call 56 mm “Regular” while another calls 56 mm “Large”. A third brand might use a shaped 55 mm base that feels roomier than either because the mid-body expands.

Ignore the label conflict and compare the actual millimetre dimensions. If the width is measured at different points, note that too. Trojan's chart is a good example because it explicitly separates base and mid-body widths.

Material Differences Between Brands

Durex and many Trojan/Magnum products use natural rubber latex. SKYN uses synthetic polyisoprene and positions itself as non-latex. MyONE's Custom Fit line uses latex. Material can affect stretch, sensation, smell and compatibility considerations.

If you have a known or suspected latex allergy, do not choose a latex product simply because its dimensions look ideal. Review the manufacturer's material information and seek appropriate medical advice for allergy concerns.

Brand Comparison Mistakes to Avoid

Comparing Labels Only

Regular, Large and XL do not mean one universal width.

Ignoring Shape

A 53 mm base can still have a very wide mid-body or head.

Ignoring Length

Equal widths can come in significantly different product lengths.

Mixing Regions

US and UK versions of a brand may not have identical current dimensions.

Assuming Same Material

SKYN polyisoprene can feel different from a latex condom of similar width.

Jumping Too Far

Move to a nearby technical size first when only a small fit correction is needed.

Common questions about Durex, Trojan, Magnum, SKYN, MyONE and switching between condom brands.

No. Regular, large, wide and XL are brand categories rather than universal dimensions. Compare the exact nominal width, length and shape of each product.
Durex UK's current general fit guide lists Regular Fit at 56 mm nominal width. Check the exact product because specifications can vary by range.
SKYN UK currently lists SKYN Original at 53 mm nominal width.
SKYN UK currently lists SKYN Large at 56 mm nominal width.
Many standard Trojan latex products on the current US chart use a 53 mm base nominal width, although mid-body width and length can vary by model.
No. Current Magnum models use different base widths, mid-body widths, lengths and shapes. Magnum XL, Original, Raw and Ecstasy do not share identical dimensions.
Among the systems compared on this page, MyONE has the largest explicit custom-size matrix, with 52 current US FitCodes.
Yes. Shape, mid-body width, length, material, elasticity and construction can make equal nominal widths feel different.
SKYN states that its condoms are made from synthetic polyisoprene and do not contain natural rubber latex.
MyONE offers many width-and-length combinations, which can be useful if standard condoms are repeatedly too long, short, tight or loose. The best fit still needs to be measured and confirmed.
Compare both when a brand publishes them. Base width affects security at the bottom, while mid-body width can change room through the shaft and head.
Durex's general UK guide lists Wide at 57 mm, while some specific product ranges publish different product-level widths such as 60 mm. Always check the exact product page.
It is better to compare the millimetre width, product length, shape and material rather than assuming one brand's regular or large matches another brand.
There is no single best-fitting brand for everyone. The best choice is the exact product that fits securely, is comfortable, provides adequate coverage and is used correctly.
